Ask him if he wants to go out sometime, outside of school to get food or see a movie...then see where it goes from there. You dont have to straight up tell him that you like him, things will just happen. Doesnt that sounds less nerve racking than saying HI i like you? Plus it will give the hint well enough when you ask to hang out, but just do it casually as a friend.
