Wireless n router??/ help i dont know how to use this??

oki i bought myself a wireless n router and i followed the steps..i put in the cd and did everything it said..but i connected it to the actual computer with the internet..but i want wireless for my laptop but i dont know how to do this?? what am i doing wrong?? plus it seems to be slower when i connect the wireless router to the home computer.
