Was the Southern Confederacy ever a "world power?"?

I know this is an odd question...but was the South, the Confederacy in America, a world power like the USA (well the North), Great Britain, France, Prussia, Austria, or the Russian Empire at that time? If so, how much of a power was it? If not, why?
